Dr. Lisa Shideler is the third generation of the Shideler family to be born and raised in Valparaiso. She grew up helping out and observing in her father's dental practice. Dr. Lisa has completed extensive training in advanced dental techniques since school. She has attended courses given by the leaders in dentistry, such as Dr. Bill Strupp, Dr. Peter Dawson, Dr. Buddy Mopper, Dr. Corky Wilhite, Dr. Bob Nixon, and Dr. Gordon Christensen. These dental "icons" have been highly respected innovators for several decades, and Dr. Lisa attributes much of her succcess to their thoughtful guidance.
She has served on the Northwest Indiana Dental Peer Review Committee with Dr. Arnold for three years and participates in the Dental Study Club of Northwest Indiana. Dr. Lisa maintains membership in the American Dental Association and its local components, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and the American Association of Women Dentists. Her hobbies include tennis, golf, hiking, and travel.
In 2005, Dr. Lisa merged her practice with the practice of Dr. Jim Arnold. Both doctors had been extremely busy for several years and needed some help to maintain high standards or care and service to their patients. Dr. Natalie Wargo joined their team to relieve some of the workload and to ensure that patients would continue to be seen in a timely manner. Thas been an excellent transition for all!
