Valparaiso High School Scholarships

Dear Valparaiso High School Senior:

Dr. Jim Arnold grew up in Valparaiso and has practiced dentistry in Porter County since 1996.  SmilesByArnold & Associates offers comprehensive dental care to the families of this area and is proud to support the community that supports us.  The SmilesByArnold Foundation is one more way for us to make a difference for others.

The SmilesByArnold Foundation was established in 2006 to benefit the young people of Northwest Indiana.  We feel strongly that youth should have the opportunity to excel in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities.  To this end, the Foundation will be contributing funds to worthy organizations and individuals for the betterment of our region’s young people.

In the spirit of Making a Difference, we will be giving a $500 scholarship to a deserving Valparaiso High School Senior who is interested in a career in dentistry.  This can include an interest in being a dentist, a dental specialist, a dental hygienist, or a dental assistant.

There are several criteria that will go into selecting the scholarship recipients.  These criteria include GPA, class rank, SAT scores, extracurricular activities, and community service.  Additionally, you will need to submit a 300 – 500 word essay describing why you are interested in a career in dentistry.
